All over the ages, the Holy Scripture has created rich culture with outstanding fine arts and art of reproduction. It is able to raise humans and let them experience the reflection of non-created Beauty, which is God Himself. Unlike fine arts, the art of reproduction has the advantage that the interprets can always render a new face to particular works of art; inspiration and talent of an author (composer, poet, writer) joins the inspiration and talent of the interprets, so always to some extent a new work comes to existence, a new realisation or reproduction. With spiritual works, there is also the spiritual animation supplied by the topic itself, which is God and the Divine world, which of course contains humans, too. Therefore festivals of sacred music are always a great experience, participated by not only professionals, but also enthusiastic amateurs, who dedicate much of their free time to practising these works. One of these great experiences will certainly be the Festival of Sacred Music Sumava - Bayerischer Wald. Its big advantage is the international character, which makes it a tool of interconnection of people over the borders of countries and languages in the centre of Europe and which commemorates Europe's Christian base on which it has been standing and feeding, although we sometimes do not realise this. Therefore I would like to receive this festival and wish all its participants and audiences a lot of special experiences of beauty, which will fill their hearts and I pray to God for ample blessing and intense feeling of His vicinity.
